Sustainable 3D Printing: Cutting our Carbon Footprint
We are committed to delivering high-quality 3D-printed parts while reducing our environmental impact. As part of this commitment, in September 2024, we made the switch to Matrix PA12 CR for our SLS 3D printing service. This move has already made a significant difference, cutting our carbon footprint by 2,732 kg of CO2e.
What is Matrix PA2200 CR?
Matrix PA12 CR is a carbon-reduced version of PA2200, a widely used nylon material for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). It offers the same high-performance properties as standard PA2200—strength, durability, and versatility—but with a 40% lower greenhouse gas emissions footprint.
This reduction is achieved through a more sustainable manufacturing process, including the use of renewable energy. Importantly, our customers can still expect the same outstanding mechanical performance from their SLS parts, but with the added benefit of a reduced environmental impact.
Why We Made the Switch
Sustainability is an increasingly important factor in manufacturing, and we want to ensure that our services align with both our values and our customers’ needs. By adopting Matrix PA12 CR, we offer a more eco-friendly option without compromising on quality or reliability.
- Same great performance – No change in material strength, flexibility, or durability.
- Sustainable innovation – A step towards greener 3D printing solutions.
Our Commitment to Responsible Manufacturing
Sustainability is not a one-time goal but an ongoing journey. Switching to Matrix PA12 CR is just one part of our journey. We are also ISO 14001 accredited which is a testament to our team’s hard work and our commitment to protecting the environment for future generations.
If your business is looking for high-quality SLS parts with a lower environmental impact, we’re here to help. Whether you need functional prototypes, production parts, or complex geometries, our fast-turnaround 3D printing service ensures you get the parts you need—now with a smaller carbon footprint.
A Greener Future
We are proud of the positive impact this change has already made, and we’re excited to continue driving sustainability in additive manufacturing. If you’d like to learn more about how Matrix PA12 CR can benefit your project, get in touch with our team today.
