We offer an extensive range of finishing options for CNC machined prototype parts. Finishes can be applied for aesthetics or functionality – including EMI/RFI shielding on plastic parts – with the choice being heavily dependent on the base material.
Where possible, all CNC parts are vapour honed to give a more aesthetically pleasing part. This is similar to dry bead blasting but with the inclusion of water which gives a smoother surface finish. This has no effect on part dimensions but does help to remove both machining marks and burrs from the part.
We have in-house facilities for both wet painting and manual polishing. Other processes, such as anodising and powder coating, can be subcontracted to local specialists.
We cannot guarantee subcontracted work due to inconsistencies within the process for prototype and low volume quantities. We are more than happy to work with subcontractors that customers have used in the past. Please talk to our team if you have a preferred specialist.
When customers need prototype parts quickly, we offer a three-day Express service (read more about our Service levels here). Express CNC machined parts are supplied having been vapour honed, deburred, cleaned, degreased, with no additional finishing options.
