Introducing Matrix PA12 CR: The Sustainable Replacement for PA 2200

We are excited to announce the introduction of Matrix PA12 CR, the new standard in our Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) material range. This innovative material is a direct replacement for the widely used PA 2200, offering the same reliable technical properties but with the added benefit of a significantly reduced CO2e footprint.

Why Matrix PA12 CR?

As the need for environmentally responsible solutions becomes ever more critical, we have taken proactive steps to ensure our materials meet these demands. Matrix PA12 CR is our answer to the growing need for sustainable alternatives in the prototyping industry. This material, based on polyamide 12, maintains the trusted quality of PA 2200 while delivering an impressive 45% reduction in CO2e emissions.

A Direct Replacement with Enhanced Sustainability

Matrix PA12 CR is designed to seamlessly replace PA 2200, offering the same well-balanced property profile that our customers depend on. Whether for functional prototypes or final-use parts, this material continues to deliver high performance while significantly reducing environmental impact.

At a 100μm layer thickness, Matrix PA12 CR manages to balance crucial factors such as production costs, mechanical properties, surface quality, and accuracy. This makes it particularly effective for creating parts with diverse geometries, dimensions, and requirements, ensuring you can achieve the same results with a smaller environmental footprint.

Versatile Applications Across Industries

Matrix PA12 CR retains the versatility that made PA 2200 so popular, making it suitable for a broad range of applications, including:

Production Equipment: Ideal for manufacturing grippers, jigs, and fixtures, providing the strength and durability needed for demanding environments.

Medical Industry: Perfect for creating surgery cutting guides and bone models, ensuring precision and reliability.

Consumer Goods: Excellent for producing high-quality consumer products that require both aesthetic appeal and durability.

Automotive Industry: A robust choice for manufacturing spare parts like brackets or covers, ensuring they withstand mechanical stress.

Functional Prototyping: Well-suited for creating prototypes with functional elements like hinges or threads, which demand a balance of flexibility and strength.

Maintaining High Performance

Matrix PA12 CR delivers the mechanical properties you’ve come to expect, including a tensile strength of 50 MPa and a tensile modulus of 1700 MPa. Its Shore D hardness of 75 and impressive impact strength ensure it performs reliably in a wide range of applications.

A Commitment to a Greener Future

Switching to Matrix PA12 CR underscores our dedication to sustainability. By replacing PA 2200 with this eco-friendly alternative, we help our clients reduce their carbon footprint without compromising on the quality of their prototypes.

Matrix PA12 CR is more than just a material upgrade; it represents our commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.
