Projection Stereolithography (PSLA) at Prototype Projects uses PRO-BLK 10 (Matrix PB10), a production-grade black resin engineered for direct digital manufacturing of functional plastic parts. Available with overnight, 3, 7 and 12-day production speeds, with a full range of finishing options.
PRO-BLK 10 is an isotropic material, meaning parts exhibit consistent mechanical properties regardless of print orientation. It delivers thermoplastic-like performance with a smooth sidewall quality and simplified post-processing.
PRO-BLK 10 is a versatile, rigid, heat-resistant resin combining speed, strength and excellent mechanical properties for tool-less direct production of plastic parts. It delivers thermoplastic-like behaviour – including necking at the tensile break point – with a smooth surface finish and high dimensional accuracy.
The material features long-term environmental stability, retaining mechanical properties under UV and humidity exposure. It requires no secondary thermal cure, making it well suited to fast-turnaround production workflows. PRO-BLK 10 is biocompatible capable per ISO 10993-5 and ISO 10993-10, and offers a UL94 HB flammability rating.
Build volume: up to 242 x 265 x 300 mm. Machine: 3D Systems PSLA 270. Print speed: up to 62 mm/hr at 50 micron layer thickness.

Note: PRO-BLK 10 properties are isotropic across all print orientations. Parts do not need to be oriented in a specific direction to exhibit these properties.
PSLA parts are available with overnight (next working day dispatch), 3, 7 and 12-day production speeds. Compatible finishing options include build line removal, lacquering, primer and paint finishes, blackout/EMI/RFI coating to internal surfaces, and assembly operations including threaded insert fitting.
For full finishing option details, see the 3D Printing Finishing page. See our production speeds and delivery methods, and request a quote.
