Prototype Projects Announces Further Investment in New Machinery
June 2013
Royston-based industrial prototyping expert Prototype Projects is following up capital investments earlier in 2013 with a further purchase of new state of the art prototyping machines to support and extend its 3D Printing and CNC Milling capabilities.
Once again showing that it is flying the flag for UK manufacturing as a home grown success story in high tech innovation, Prototype Projects has followed its investment of over £80,000 in highly specialised advanced CNC machines with a further investment in new Laser Sintering machinery to meet the exploding demand for 3D printing prototype parts.
The company manufactures prototype parts in a range of metallic and plastic materials. The news of these capital investments to extend prototyping capacity and enable faster delivery comes on the back of strong demand growth in both 2012 and 2013 from clients in the UK and Europe, particularly in the automotive and medical device sectors.
Justin Pringle, Managing Director of Prototype Projects, said:
“So far in 2013, we have invested over £100,000 in new capital equipment to meet demand, as well as taking on new staff to develop our skills and capabilities.
“We’ve been based in Royston for over 30 years now and investment in staff and machinery has been a constant theme for us. I believe it’s one of the secrets of our success.”
