When Kathryn Baldrey-Chourio returned to teaching following maternity leave, she soon realised many children were unable to hold their cutlery properly.
Feeling something needed to be done, Kathryn established Nana’s Manners and set to work researching children’s development. She started shaping and moulding clay which formed the first of many knife and fork prototypes, before turning to Prototype Projects to produce vacuum cast handles with CNC machined knife blades and fork tines.
To break into the commercial market, Kathryn secured investment from BBC2 Dragon, Touker Suleyman.
