Meet our Mental Health First Aiders
In April 2021, Hannah Game became our Mental Health First Aider to care for the mental health of our team in the workplace. Over the last year, she has provided staff with a wealth of information and is available to any staff who feels they need support.
To ensure our staff have a choice of who they may wish to talk with, we are delighted that Shane Lee, our Senior Accounts Assistant, has now completed his Mental Health First Aider training.
Shane said:
“I’m really pleased to be able to support the mental health of my colleagues, alongside Hannah. Between us, we offer a safe space for staff to talk about their worries. They can also raise mental well-being concerns about a colleague if they feel they need to.”
Hannah reflected that it was important for staff to have a choice of who they may want to speak to about their mental health. She said:
“Talking about our feelings can make us feel vulnerable and it’s really important that, if our staff want to share their concerns within the workplace, they have a choice of who they speak to. Shane and I are very different people and while one person may feel more comfortable talking with me, another may prefer to talk with Shane.”
To kickstart their combined efforts, Shane and Hannah are hosting a Coffee & Chat morning. Justin, MD of Prototype Projects said:
“I fully support Shane and Hannah in their roles as Mental Health First Aiders. I’m really pleased to see them jointly hosting a Coffee & Chat morning, especially given it’s Mental Health Awareness Week. Having a space for our staff to talk and seek help is incredibly important to me.”
