From 3D model to 3D printed part
In our latest video, Chris Lock explains the design, printing and cleaning processes used to create a 3D printed part using DLP, a high-speed 3D printing technology using 3D Systems‘ Figure 4 machine.
Having designed the 3D model, Chris printed the part using DLP. The build platform was removed before Chris washed the part in IPA to wash off any excess resin. Once the part is cleaned, it is hardened in the UV oven for an hour. The support material is then removed from the cured part.

Benefits of DLP
DLP is ideal for low volume production. Benefits include:
- Fast printing times (see dispatch below)
- Elimination of tooling
- Range of materials

Did you know…
Because the DLP prints very quickly, we are able to offer next working day dispatch if the order is placed by 4.30pm. Depending on the part, we can sometimes deliver same day dispatch for DLP parts.
See our other dispatch service levels here.
