SLS parts
The print cost calculator works on the space the part bounding box (XYZ) takes up / Volume of part and some machine draw time parameters. To make good use of the powder you can nest your parts into one .stl file. So, arrange your parts with a minimum distance of 1.5mm between them (make sure they don’t intersect by mistake).

Single .stl file
£5.53*

Individual .stl files
£6.28*
Geometry is a fickle thing for calculating costs, so always try different ways to get the best price for your project.
*£35 +VAT min order value
The print cost calculator will also take into consideration the part volume compared to the bounding box volume.
As you will see below, Part A will have a much larger Bounding Box Volume than Part B, however Part B will use more material than Part A to make. So, if the Part volume is 60% or less than the bounding box, then the Part volume will be used for costing. Of course, you can always use the nesting formula to utilise the space and material.

Part B (solid)

Parts are printed in white PA 2200 Nylon, we can dye black using the Dye Mansion System if selected during the quote process. We do offer a full-colour range via our normal ordering process, Select the request a quote button at the top of this page.
Material White PA 2200: within 10-15 days

Dyed Black: within 10-15 days

Option 1
We will orientate the part to ensure we have the best balance between part quality and build platform utilisation.
If you need a specific print orientation, please follow the steps in Option 2 below.

Option 2
If you need to have a part printed in a specific orientation, please follow these instructions:
- Save the part in the build orientation (within your CAD system)
- Export/Save As an .stl (following the guidance of your CAD system)*
- Upload file to My 3D AM
- Select Material
- Select Quantity
- Add Note “KEEP ORIENTATION”
*a poor quality .stl file will result in a poor quality printed part

Recommendation
Recommended

Not recommended

You can print parts with working joints so no need for assembly. Leave 0.8mm between parts and create plenty of areas (holes) to allow for the loose powder to be removed.

Nesting
- Keep parts 1.5mm apart
- Use a 2mm sprue (Round) if needed
Walls
- 0.5mm ~ possible
- 0.8mm ~ best
- 1.5mm ~ for best material mechanical properties
Text
- 14pt
- Sans Serif
Pins
- 0.8mm
- 1.8mm ~ for best material mechanical properties
SLA parts
We currently offer Accura Xtreme on SLA printed parts ordered through My 3D AM. This material benefits delivers specific properties and characteristics, including:
- high surface quality
- can be used for tapping/inserts
- grey in colour
We will be adding additional SLA materials in time, so please check back.
