Open Bionics is working with 10 children at a Bristol hospital for a six-month trial of its specialist prosthetic devices. If the children acclimatise to their new 3D printed arms, which have controllable fingers thanks to clever muscle sensors, the NHS could eventually offer 3D printed prosthetic arms for children.
Canoe with 3D printed formwork takes 1st prize for design innovation
A team from ETH Zurich took home first place for Design Innovation at the 26th Concrete Canoe Regatta for its partially 3D printed canoe. The biennial event, held in Cologne, brings together participants from universities all over Europe to see who can design the lightest, fastest, most beautiful, and most innovative concrete canoe.
3D printing of 168 sqm “R&Drone Laboratory” in Dubai completed
Dutch construction company and concrete 3D printing specialist, CyBe Construction, has finished 3D printing the “R&Drone Laboratory,” a drone research laboratory in Dubai. The building is the first laboratory in the world to be 3D printed on site.
