We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to learn on-the-job skills to become a CNC Machinist. At Prototype Projects we are involved in making CNC prototype parts for products of the future.
As an individual, you will be enthusiastic about working in a workshop, interested in engineering, have an open mind to problem-solving, have good hand skills, and be hardworking and creative.
You must be keen, show interest, work quickly and be able to follow instructions.
The position is to include, but is not limited to, training in:
This position will suit an individual who would welcome this as a career now, rather than progress into after-college training.
However, if desired, the successful candidate could have the opportunity to study on day release at Cambridge Regional College, plus other training in skills such as Health and Safety, personal development are available.

This unique position will allow you to develop and use your skills to make a difference in the engineering world, making prototypes of products of the future.
These prototypes and short production runs have us working with some of the UK’s leading product development and technologies consultancies, as well as independent design engineering companies, serving the medical, architectural, scientific, and engineering industries across the UK.
This gives us a unique perspective on the role that Britain’s engineering and design talent plays on the world stage.
As a whole company, our services include: 3D printing, CNC machining, silicon tooling and vac casting.
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £27,000-£32,000 – negotiable salary or day shifts (only with experience)
Location: Royston, Hertfordshire
Ability to commute/relocate: reliably able to commute or plan to relocate before commencing employment (required)
